On to the finish line, our 20th Class reunion.
Betsy gets to ride for the 2400 mile roundtrip. As much as I love driving
Betsy, 48 hours in a cross country trip without air conditioning is
not my idea of fun. The journey began 28 September 2006.
|

Betsy, Kurt and I visited downtown, blending two hobbies with one. Kurt
loves trains.
|

Back to visit the high school, since the actual
reunion would be held elsewhere.
|

Betsy, Kurt, and Michelle all dressed up for the
reunion.
|

Betsy and Kurt outside the building where the
reunion would be held. We were one of the first to arrive and managed
to find a spot right out front. More than one person came looking for
us because they saw Betsy first. No one could believe that Betsy was
the same car as Michelle drove during high school.
|

Before heading home, Michelle took Betsy to visit
with her dad, Jim, to show him the finished car. Her neices and cousins
were invited, so a small family reunion took place as well. Christopher
is showing Betsy to his third cousin, Ellie and two more generations
of the family enjoy Betsy.
|

The 2007 car club Christmas party boasted a much
larger lineup of classic Chevys.
|

April 18, 2007 found Betsy at the dragstrip at
Old Dominion Speedway, challenging Kurt's '56 Wagon and a friend's '56
two door. Betsy' 265 engine - versus - Kurt's 327 - versus - Ernie's
454. But it was all for fun.
|

Yes, Betsy did run down the dragstrip. Her best
time in the 1/8 mi was 12.3 seconds. Not fast - but not bad for a stock
265.
|

Resting between passes. The trio did draw some
attention that night.
|

Just a few nights later, Betsy went cruizing to
Burger King on Rt 28. Yes, that's Kurt's '56 Wagon to the left of Betsy.
|

That particular Burger King draws many classic,
muscle, and collector cars and motorcycles. Betsy shines along with
the rest.
|

June 17, 2007, Betsy is back at Sully Plantation
to try for a trophy this time.
|

Again classed with '55 - '57 Chevys, she again
takes second place. Again a red and white '57 convertible takes first
place.
