Seats

Our son finally decided to get rid of the original bench seat in favor of bucket seats.

The bucket seat chosen was out of '65 Mustang that his current shop was going to throw away
because they had been sitting around too long.

Trial fit for the finacee' to be sure they will work for her as well. Smart guy.

Time to start on the bracketry to hold the seat firmly in place. First we had to
get the seat into a location that worked for both our son and his finacee'.

The new seat rails, tack welded together for now.

In working with the seats, we noticed the passenger one made odd squeaking noises.
This generally indicates the frame is broken, so we removed the upholstery. Yep,
here's the first break.

Seems that three of the four corners had different broken spots.

A good tack with the welder and the seat is good to go.

The Mustang seat bolted to the new rails. The nuts on the top of the rail
provided space to allow the seat adjust mechanism to function properly.

The anchor spots were welded to the floorpans.

A cardboard template was made to cover the sides of the
new rails. Eventually, this will be made out of metal
and painted black.

One of the completed seats brackets along with one of the A pillar and one of the
B pillar trim pieces.

The fabricated side cover panel to hide the seat bracket.

The almost complete interior. Just need the door panels, kick panels, and to finish the covering the cab wall panel.

Center Console

Fall Carlisle 2019 netted us a good original console. The
custom interior is starting to come together.

The driver's side of the console.

The lid for the console. The original rivets were loose, so we removed the lid
to prevent damage as we fit it into the car. Falcon Guy at Carlisle explained
how to repair the rivets correctly. Thanks.

The passenger side of the conole. Overall, it's in very good shape.

The sides of the console were covered in black vinyl rather than destory the original pebblegrain vinyl. Easy enough to remove and change later if need be.

The restored center console sits between the fabricated seat brackets for the Mustang seats. The hardest part about installing the seat brackets is finding the holes in the new carpet and in the floor pan. The holes are there somewhere.
