April 2007 found the Olds showing at the local cruise-in at
Burger King on Rt 28 in Manassas. Since the bodystyle is not often seen,
several people commented on it throughout the evening.
|

July 2008 found the Olds still showing, this time at the Show
and Shine car show at Old Dominion Speedway. Yes, that is
Betsy only 2 cars down, with
Sadie, the MGB in between.
|

We had barely parked and setup the cars when this man hurried
over. Seems he had once owned a car just like this and wanted
to see it. I know, this happens all the time to most car guys,
but this was the first for the owner.

June 2009 found the Olds back at Old Dominion, this time at the
drag strip instead of a car show. Yes, that is the
'89 Ranger that the owner
is going to race against.
|

Lined up and ready to approach the tree. The Olds had been
dragging before, but for the Ranger, this is her first time
ever on a drag strip.
|

Reaction time, the Olds beat the Ranger. Final time, the Ranger
won this round. The Olds final time was 13.1 seconds and 55.3 MPH.
According to the driver, the Olds did not want to shift into 2nd
gear.
|

The driver waits in his car for another race. After several
trips down the strip, the Olds gets her best time of the night,
this time against a '86 Trans Am. The Olds' overall best time
was 11.7 seconds and 58.6 MPH.
|

And true to form, car parts as Christmas gifts. The driver seat
belt was worn out, so we found a replacement in a vintage style
to go with the interior. However, the attachment to the car
wasn't as easy as it should have been, so only the driver belt
has been replaced at this time.

July 2010 found the Olds showing at the Summer Thunder Cruise-In
in Purcellville, VA, sitting next to Betsy.
|
All went well for almost another year of daily driving. However, in May of 2011, while driving to work, the Olds blew the intake gasket. A trailer ride home and an engine rebuild would be needed to get this car back on the road. Then he could start enjoying the car again.
