At the start of the trail. We had been off-roading once before - and broke the vehicle. Long story. Today would just be an easy trail with just two vehicles and three people, the Bronco and our son's Cherokee.

The trail is a little more rocky than the average dirt road, though there are a couple of very rocky sections.

At the top of the trail, and we already had broke down twice. The fuel pump just wasn't working. It kept cutting off on the trail, leaving us stranded in the middle of the road. At one point our son had to tow us off the trail to the parking area where we left the Bronco and went to the nearest Napa to get a new fuel pump. Trail maintenance with limited tools is just such fun.

But Kurt wanted a picture with the Bronco anyway. Maybe the hat ticked the Bronco off?

So the first day out with the Bronco was one trail and one repair job. All things considered, it could have been worse. But so far we are zero successful off-road adventures with zero broken vehicles.
The previous time had been with another friend in his Cherokee trail rig, setup for rock crawling and my original Jeep Liberty. And that's when we found out that not all Jeeps are trail rated. One shattered aluminium transfer case and a tow truck later, we were off the trail and driving a rental vehicle until the Liberty could be repaired. The video had been on YouTube for awhile.
The next trail date was planned for July 4th weekend and we had more rigs and people along. Being the multi-group event that it was, it deserved it's own page, separate from any of the vehicle pages.
