Show Time

Sadie's first cruise-in to Burger King. Yes, that is Kurt's Wagon next to her.

See, Sadie didn't know the way, so Betsy (not pictured) and the Wagon escorted Sadie to Burger King. Talk about turning heads on the roads, the three together really captured attention.

Sadie captured much attention that evening. Trying to get a picture without anyone in the shot was difficult, but I managed.

The simple dash area, complete with original speaker box. The radio in the dash doesn't work. The working radio is hidden in the box behind the seats, over the battery box.

Sadie's first show was at Sully Plantation June 2008 and took 2nd place. The picture shows the British class at Sully that year. The very nice white MG B GT on the left side of the field took first.

Sully Plantation requires that all cars on the show field have a fire extinguisher available at all times. Considering the cost of some of the cars, I completely understand.

Sadie shines next the the MG TD.

Sadie did make the 2009 Sully Plantation show, however, we were not sure if she would be ready in time due to the engine problems. Since we didn't pre-register her, she was not on the judging field.

As I was putting together this website, I realized that I didn't have a complete set of photos of Sadie. I remedied that this year. All the below shots were taken the morning of the Sully Plantation show, 13 June 2010.

Kurt had added the luggage rack because he liked the sportier look it provides.

Sadie looks great from 10ft away. Up close, there are a few minor cosmetic defects.

Kurt also added the ralley light bar to the front for the sportier look.

The engine bay is staying clean. The engine hasn't demanded much attention, just the usual British car tweaks and constant tuning of the twin SU carbs.

Sadie waits patiently for the show while I take pictures.

The thin white wall isn't the best look for a sports car, but the tires are still ok. However, over the intervening time, we had started to notice the tell-tale clicking in the wheels. The hubs and rims are worn and need to be replaced. We will probably get new tires at that time as well.

Betsy watches in the background as Sadie enjoys her photo shoot.

The radio and speakers hidden in the box behind the seats.

Again, she took 2nd place and again lost to the same very nicely restored MG B GT that has much less flaws than Sadie. But then we drive her.
