For his birthday, Kurt received a new radiator and windscreen glass for Sadie. She kept overheating and he wanted to drive her more, but was concerned about the overheating problem.
|

The windscreen was very pitted due to sand and time, making driving at night dangerous as the light refracted off the pits causing too much glare to see out of.

Getting to the mounting bolts was interesting. Our son was the smallest person around so he was "voluntold" into reaching those bolts. (July 2012)

We also need new splines, wheels, and tires but those will come later in 2014 as we are focused on the '56 Wagon.

Two new wheels on and looking sharp. We had no problems with three, then had number 4 seize going on. We could not get the hub on the rest of the way, nor back off. For now we need to move on, so we had to put the best of the original hubs back on.

The reflection of the photographer in the new chrome is very crisp.

This is the new slotted rotor for the brake upgrade.

Sadie has a new bird's eye view in the remodeled garage. She and Betsy get to watch as we finish up the Ranchero. (Jan 2021)
